Restaurant Review

For my restaurant review, I went to a restaurant called "Red Pepper" near Ometesando station. It takes only about a minute from the station so the access is very convenient. I found this restaurant on the internet famous for its lasagna and since its very close from the campus, I decided to write about this restaurant.
 
 This is the appearance of the restaurent. It looks very stylish and classic.
 
 
This is the insie of the restaurant. There are twenty seats in toatal so its not a very big space. When I  came here, the seats were full and I was the only guy!
 
 
 
I ordered a lasagna lunch set that said it was the most popular thing here for luch. It includes appetizers (picture above), lasagna, coffee, and a dessert. The starter tasted awesome. the soup was made from cauliflower. It was my first time to taste a cauliflower soup.
 
 
 This is the lasagna which is this restaurant famous for. When the dish arrived, the lasagna was bubbling with heat passing out the smell of cheese. It seemed very small but it made me full.
 
 
Finally, I had coffeeand dessert. These were great too.
 
This is it for my restaurant review. I really want to reccomend this restaurant to Aoyama students because it is very close. I think it is also worth lining up for this dish. The whole lunch set costed 1500 yen. It includes everything on the picture and it made me full so I say it was reasonable. Also, one glass of alchohol was available for free for people who ordered a lunch set. I think this makes it cheap. In addition, when I was lining up outside to enter the restaurant, one of the staffs brought me a heater to keep me warm. What a nice service!

Book Related Video

The video I chose for the "Book Related Video" was this. Its about olive oil and talks about whether olive oil is toxic or not when they are used for cooking. The speaker says if this myth was true, the Greek and the Romans would die thousands of years ago. Nice joke isnt it?

He also recommends what kind of olive oil we should use for different kinds of dishes. I love using olive oil for many types of food so it was very helpful.

Food Culture Quiz

Hi!
Today I wil be posting about a quiz I took, which asks about food.
My score was...
...40 percent, when the average was 70 percent. This absolutely told me how I am ignorant about food culture.
While taking the quiz I had two points that surprised me alot.

Firstly, it was a question that asked what "chipotle" was. I thought it was a type of a burrito because I had been eating Mexican wraps like tacos and burritos at a restaurant called "Chipotle" in America. However, chipotle was a type of pepper.

Secondly, the question was asking what was NOT technically a berry. the four choices were banana, strawberry, blueberry, and watermellon. I thought it was obvious that strawberries and bluberries were technically berries because they actually have a name including "berry". I chose wattermellon but it was wrong. The answer was strawberry. According to the explanation, strawberries are accessory fruits, not botanical berries.

Like these two points, I learned new information about many kinds of foods throughout the quiz. It was a very interesting quiz!

Introduction

Hi,
Nice to meet you all. I`m Takahide and I will be writing  few posts.

For my first post, I am going to introduce my food related book. The title of the book is "Toxic oil" written by David Gillespie. The fancy look of the cover, the title, and the sentece written on the back of the book, "Everything you believe about fat is wrong" motivated me to decide on this book.
This book introduces several types of oil and criticize them as toxic. We thought (atleast I did) was good for us such as polynsaturated oil is bad. Vegetable oil which isnt made from vegetables. The author gives latest evidence and shows how oil affects our health.
